Well I hope you had a good Christmas.

I've been a bit behind on my crafting so I'm going to be spending the next few days catching up.

This week at Stamp N Craft we are using 12 x 12 Scrapbook papers.

When I saw this paper I knew that I wanted to use it with my children's school photo. It's not very often their school photo with them both in is a nice one. One is either grimacing or the other one is smirking.

Here's my project

The papers are Homeroom.
This would make a fab gift for Grandparents but I'm keeping this one. This cost under a £5 excluding the photo.

Happy Christmas!

Hi, this is Angie, of the design team here!
i apologise that i did`nt have time to make my project this week, but time ran away with me!
i think it has been agreed (although i don`t know if Beth Knows! lol) with the team, that we`ll take a couple of weeks off, as we`re all busy with Christmas, and families!
So, on behalf of the Stamp`N`Craft design Team, we`d all like to thank you for all your support,
and to  Beth & Dave, and everyone else!
                      A VERY HAPPY CHRISTMAS
                         AND A HAPPY NEW YEAR!

Christmas Wishes

Hello all, I can not believe how fast Christmas has come. With only this weekend to finish rushing around like a headless chicken to make sure everything is all ready for next week. I am quite lucky I do not have to cook a Christmas dinner as I am going over to the wonderful Sandra's after work Tuesday to have one :D

Well as you can see so far from the brilliant projects so far this week that we are using Card Candi, I had made my sister a card for her giftcard and it needed some finishing touches so I stuck card candi around the outside. I have used the paper and Card Candi from Stamp and Craft. I am using a Saturated Canary image - Latte (which I still have to colour as I haven't made up my mind yet what colours to use)

Thank you for stopping by, and I wish you all a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.
Love Sophie x

2 CaS cards with my candi

How strange is this weather cold and frosty when i went to bed wet and windy when i got up! Well i hope you are all ready for the big day? I have been really well organised this year and then on Saturday Richards Mum went into hospital and everything went on hold. Hence today's cards are clean and simple and very quick.  Thought I'd have a go at making some embellishments. The flowers are small and simple but you can build on this and make them much larger depending on the size of your card. I thought they would look fab on a photo frame. The second i just cut out a heart and built the Candi up on it.One could be a wedding, valentine or just plain i love you card. The other is a thank you or could be a get well or birthday. Just have a play around and see what you can come up with. Great fun.

Don't forget to pop on tomorrow and see what Tanmo comes up with. xx

So how many uses can you think of?

Hi all, well our challenge over at StampnCraft this week is to use card candi but not in the traditonal way and me being the generous person that i am took a different route and saved the easy ones for the other Oh and yes before you ask i am early with my DT post but have family here next weekend so Angiebabe has kindly swopped days with me.
So i ask,how many ways can you think of using card candi? would love to hear your ideas on this but only polite
Anyway enough of my waffle (can you tell i am feeling ,heres my card using card candi and i decided to use it as a stamping surface to make letter embellishments. Just used white card candi and stamped onto them using a mini abc stamp set.

Digi coloured with promarkers
labels 8 & decorative labels 8 nesties
mirri card/paper from stash
white card candi
studio g abc mini stamps

This card is also for my son Peter who will be 20 on Chrismas Eve and has told me he will be
offically old then hence the image for him as he will be out celebrating with his mates. x

A bit of nostalgia for my DT post

Hi all its My turn today and i have been a bit under the weather this week ending in having a actual day off on friday as felt so rough and not feeling much better today :(
Though i did spend the day on the sofa with the dog dozing in between phonecalls and the postman! not sure i am going to able today as we have a visitor for the weekend.
But anyway luckily i had finished my project and just needed the last touches.
So our theme this week over at StampnCraft is to use wool/yarn on our projects and this is my effort

It's a coaster

I had dug out my nan's french knitting tool which i had inherited along with her button tin (spent ages as a child playing with them) and spent the week when i had a few mins spare practising this skill which i hadnt done for ages!
loads of tutorials around if you google french knitting and even ones on how to make your own knitting tool but this was my finished length of knitting which i then stitched together.

I used a cardboard circle which i adhered to bottom of knitting which also covered up the stitches and then diecut a piece of felt using scalloped nestie which then went on the bottom of the card and there you have it a hand made wool coaster. Don't forget to see what the ladies have been doing this week and its Beth's turn tomorrow. I am off back to my bed. Kay,x

Woolie Makeover

Hello all, it is Sophie here. Sorry for last week and not posting but with Christmas coming up I have been all over the place and my craft room hasn't really seen me. This week is wool or yarn, and to be totally honest when I saw what it was my head just went into shut down. I don't own any wool or yarn myself so this project was made from a old wool cardigan.
I had brought this sewing box from a car boot sale and thought that I could turn it into a craft storage for my bits and bobs I keep losing. First I took old fabric off (being careful not to rip it as it would come in handy again on another project) The I cut the arms of the cardigan and cut two square big enough to cover the insert section. I glued it together and glued the section back onto the box.
On the inside it was plain so I cut some paper from my stash (lost the front page so unknown name), distressed the edges and stuck it to the inside.
Once it was dry, I glued flowers onto the edges and went over with stickles to make it more glittery.
I made sand it down one day and distress the wood but that wont be till 2013.

Thank you for looking at my blog and stay tuned for Kay's turn tomorrow :D

Birdies.....not fish

Its Tanmo again :)
This week I got my sewing kit out and used my yarn to make a little birdie hanging (not fish as my BF thought).
I made my birdies out of felt and stuffed them with the inside of teddy bear! The I strung them on to my yarn.
I have done it in blues, so it matches my new front room, and it will look lovely with Sandras wreath from yesterday :)

Thanks for looking xxx

And now for something completely different!

Good Morning
Well this weeks project was to see what we could do with yarn, so I thought I'd try something a little bit  different. I'd already had this project in my mind for Christmas so it made me get a move on and have a go. One polystyrene ring, one ball of wool, felt and some pretty embellishments. Wrap the wool around the ring, this is the boring bit but can be done in front of the TV. As long as all the polystyrene is covered then fine I went around mine a couple of times. Then i made some pretty felt flowers and hot glued them to the ring. Finally I glued some pretty embellishments to finish. Really simple but an effective gift. I have already started another! Don't forget to pop into Stamp n Craft and see the gorgeous wool Beth has.
Thanks for taking the time to look. Sandra

Good afternoon, Stamp`N` Crafters,
bit late today with my project, sorry, forgot! lol as its still tuesday its my turn, Angie, to showcase my DT project,
So, i made a christmas card, using wool as an embellishment!
i started with a  dark blue base card, matted silver mirri card onto some christmas design paper from my stash,  diecut, 2 scalloped ovals then added a christmas picture, and stamped a merry christmas (both of which is from my stash!)then added 2 snowflakes and some sparkly stones, then added some glitter glue, around the sentiment,
The lovely Beth & Dave, supply most of what i`ve used on my card, from their lovely shop, Stamp`N`Craft, why not pop in and see whats there!
hope you like it!

This week we are focusing on yarn / wool.

There's lots of different ways we can use yarn. I've used on a card.
When you have a large image, you may not want anything to distract from this image, but just the image can look plain. Wrapping thread, yarn or wool around part of your card, just gives it a lift.

Here's my card

I hope you like it.

Bunting Memory Book

So this week has been amazing, the DT came up with some inspired uses for bunting, which was great. For my project I decided to make a pet themed mini memory book as I have been meaning to do one for my doggies for ages.

I used 4 pieces of bunting and decorated the pages using papers from DCWV The Pets Stack. I cut out dog themed embellishments using my slice and added pictures of my fluffy muppets. On the last page to go with the bunting theme I used an Inkadinkado bunting alphabet stamp set to create "I love my dogs" bunting.

I hope you have enjoyed seeing all the different ways to use bunting and we have a some bunting packs at Stamp N Craft including scalloped and straight edged sets.

Why not see what other ideas you can think of for using up leftover bunting, let us know if you think up a great project!! Next week we will be using Yarn!!

Bunting - to be or not to be!

So our challenge this week for the DT team is to adapt a piece of bunting and see what else we could use it for. Must admit to being most impressed by the projects from the ladies this week. But me,lets just say my little brain couldnt
So have had to fall back on on the old card making idea with mine but on a larger scale!!
A3 card folded in half to make a giant card
doodling around the edge
bunting coloured with evergreen distress ink
added coloured string, bows and card candi for decorations
brown card for trunk and ribbon from choc box
silver star brads

Will be taking this card into work for all the staff to sign to take over to our school.x

Bunting Flag!

Hello, its Thursday, so its me Tanmo!
I decided to turn my bunting on its side and make a flag! My BF Kevmo is really in to cycling and enters some events, so I thought I could stand there at the finish line and cheer him on :)

I inked up the edges of my flag, added some patterned paper, and a white triangle, then die cut some letters on my cuttlebug, stuck them on and added a gem.
I didnt want to go too over board with embellies, but if you were making one for another reason for a girl, you could pile loads on as theres tons of room!
See you next week!

Wine bottle tag.....

So sorry i'm so late with this post, been having computer troubles and just got back on :O0
I decided to make a male wine bottle tag with my bunting. I used the Tim Holtz distressed ink walnut stain and distressed the tag, then stamped some steampunk images over it in black soot and marigold. Then i cut some male papers into triangles and layer on the front, I cut a piece of white card and distressed and stamped an image. I cut some TH cogs out of brown and silver card and stuck them on, finally i distressed 2 cream tags and stamped my greeting and joined with some twine, and punched a circle for the neck of the wine to go through.
Thanks for taking the time to look and leave a comment. Sandra x

Sorry I'm late posting today. Batteries died in my camera so I had to wait for them to charge.

Penny Black Pop Art

I have been quite good this week and I had my sample done early. I don't know where the inspiration struck but Andy Warhol's pop art images came into my head and I had to use it with my Penny Black stamps. I always thought Penny Black stamps were named after the famous postage stamp, but it turns out it is the name of the owner of the company!! What a cool name!!

Anyway here is my card, I used glossy card stock, cut into 2 inch squares which I then stamped the same Penny Black cat in Versamark. Then using Adirondack inks, I brayered the colour, leaving a resist of the cat. Then using one of the opposing colours of Adirondack ink, I stamped the cat again slightly lower down, to give a shadow effect. The sentiment is a very apt Andy Warhol quote and the awful handwriting is my own. Sorry the photo's aren't great, the light was going and my flash didn't like glossy cardstock.

I hope you have enjoyed all the lovely creations this week and next week we will be looking at Bunting!!

Little Penny Blacks.......

Well it's Wednesday already , how quick the week goes! I thought i would like to show how small stamps can be used on a big card. So i stamped 3 of the cute penny black stamps and cut them out and layered onto orange card and coloured with Pro markers, which Beth has at Stamp n craft , Yeovil. I then made my own background paper with Tim Holtz distressed inks, i used the Peeled Paint and Dried Marigold which are also from Stamp n craft. I then stamped some flowers over the background in the peeled paint ink. I then stuck the images across the card. I cut out some flower pots and stuck them up the side of the card and stamped 2 flowers coming out of the top in Vintage photo distressed ink. I cut out the word Mum in green glitter card and stuck onto the pots. Final finished with my trade mark some orange pearls.
Have a lovely day and don't forget to pop back tomorrow. x

Under the sea

This week  we have all used the same stamp from Sweet Pea stamps, now I know Sweet Pea Stamps are like marmite you either love them or hate them, but I love them and I think the DT have all done a fabulous job this week and I love that they are all so different.

I went for an underwater bubble theme and I used my slice to cut different sized circles and then used blue and green Adirondack inks with my favourite Dreamweaver brushes to colour the bubbles softly. I them just used a bit of copier paper as a mask to create the illusion of sun in the water.

For the Sweet Pea Koi stamp I stamped the image, using clear Versamark ink, onto a circle of glossy card and then brayered over with the green and blue Adirondack ink.

I used a seahorse mask cut from my slice and a seaweed stamp and then added the obligatory glitter (no card is complete without glitter ;0).

I hope you have enjoyed this weeks cards and tune in next week for Penny Black Stamps!!

Day 3 of Koi Sweet Pea Image

Hi from a wet and windy Somerset. Well day 3 and it's my turn Sandra. Well i was gutted when Beth gave us this image to play with as i always look at these and put them back on the shelf, however when i started colouring and playing i really enjoyed it.
Now you may notice mine is different, as i have coloured her whole body and not left the bit in the middle to show as her tummy, i thought it looks better like this, and to be honest i can see no real reason why it can't be done like this if you want to. It's your stamp and you can colour it as and how you like!
Anyhow i covered my whole image in Ranger Glossy Accents so it gives the image a shimmery under water look. I love the soft colours and fresh look. Thanks for looking. If you have time then please leave a comment so i can return the favour. Have a good day. xx
