Vintage Christmas Range

I thought I would share some of the items in our new Vintage Christmas Range from Kars, that we launched on Monday. There is loads of choice, all in beautiful vintage shades. The range includes paper stacks, gems, glitter glue, brads, stamps, ribbon, epoxy stickers, felt card blanks and more.
This is a small selection, so please pop in to see the full range.

The lovely Anne from the Stamps and Paper blog, made some gorgeous sample cards for me using the papers, stamps and some of the embellishments from the range.

They are really stunning and inventive and I think they show off the range wonderfully. Anne will be running a workshop for us using this range on the 15th of October, so check out the workshops page, or pop in store for full details.

Well Ta Ta for now, Beth xxx

Chocolate Baroque Steampunk Christmas

So yesterday the lovely Anne from popped in and we were chatting about the Less is More challenge blog. Well I find it quite difficult to restrain myself when crafting, especially if there is something shiny to use (must be the magpie in me!), so I felt inspired to try my own less is more challenge using the beautiful new Steampunk Christmas stamp plate from Chocolate Baroque. I thought this plate would be perfect for less is more, as it is so detailed and unusual it needs very little to stand out from the crowd.

This is such a beautiful plate and is suitable for both men and women alike. It is also very versatile as the cogs can be used for any occasion, not just for christmas.

Anyway I couldn't help myself I had to use something shiny so I got out my trusty glue pad and my gilding flakes and stamped away.

I started with a A5 piece of black card in landscape.

I then stamped the small cog christmas tree in the upper left corner of the card, using the Tsukeniko glue pad.

I carefully laid on the gilding flakes and pressed down with my fingers to ensure good adhesion.

Using a Dreamweaver stencil brush (you need a fairly stiff brush to get the desired effect) I used a circular motion to rub off the excess flakes (keeping them of course, we crafters waste nothing!)

I then stuck a piece of Double Sided Tape (DST) across the bottom of the card and using the same method as above applied gilding flakes to the strip.

I masked off the gilded strip using a post it note cut to size and then overstamped the large flower from the Steampunk Christmas set in Versamark (trying to create a subtle effect)

I stamped the small Noel greeting from the Steampunk Christmas set in Versamark and used a Cosmic Shimmer mica powder in Enchanted Gold. (I do love mica powder such a small amount goes such a long way and the effect is fantastic.) I cut out the greeting and Mounted it in the top righthand corner of the card using my trusty Pinflair glue gel.

Lastly I stamped the Noel greeting again and gilded the cog, which I then cut out and stuck onto the greeting with Pinflair again.

I hope you like my card, it was not easy to photograph so I apologise if you can't see the watermarked flower very well.

New Products!

We have had some lovely new products arrive, I particularly like the new Die Cuts With A View (DCWV) 12 X 12 Paper stacks, each with 48 pages.
Royal Garden is a peacock themed paperstack with glossy paper and very detailed gold foiling. The colours are very vibrant and the quality is of a very high standard.

Immortal Love is perfect for those Twilight fans with a muted colour scheme with flashes of red. It has thermographic glitter on most of the pages and is a beautiful stack.

Lady Couture is a Parisian styled stack with elegant ladies, damask designs and animal prints with a natural tone colour scheme.

The Performance stack is based around music and has pages with musical notes, piano keyboards, violins and other musical instruments.

We also have some Debbi Moore Cd Roms including Fairyland and Angelland which are gentle cartoon stye in pretty muted pastel shades, the Art Deco Paris Cd, the Venitian Cd and more.

Some new Nellie Snellen clear stamps have arrived which feature Dawn. Dawn is a vey sweet little girl who would look lovely coloured with pro markers. (I may have to get some myself and make some samples up!)

We are always getting in new stock so keep your eyes peeled as I will be keeping the blog updated, I will also be adding tips and projects. If you would like got see something in particular demonstrated I will do my best to add it to the blog.

Our First Post

Launch day was Saturday 6th of August and it was a great success, we were very busy and met some lovely crafters. It was manic up until opening and stayed manic for most of the day, but it was great fun.
We did some demos on Cosmic Shimmer products which seemed to go down well, especially the ones using the Mica Powders.
We will be having regular demo's and soon we will be holding a variety of workshops (hopefully with some tips and tutorials on this very blog).

I hope everyone had a good day, I know I did!
